Our future is in their hands and accordingly, we feel a duty to reward talented and hard working young Bahrainis with opportunity. With a focus on excellence both in education and sport, GFH has sponsored a number of institutions and programs designed to identify and develop the homegrown leaders of tomorrow.
Education
GFH Ibda’a: This graduate program program was is aimed at promoting professional training and employment among the young Bahraini community. The idea was conceived to nurture and developing innovators, business leaders and professionals of the future.
Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program
Initiated by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, The Crown Prince and Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, this unique scholarship is awarded to the brightest, most dedicated and most motivated Bahraini High School students and allows them to study at some of the world’s most prestigious colleges and universities. His Highness envisioned a scheme that guaranteed the most promising young Bahrainis an education that would sculpt them into Bahrain leaders of the future.
Royal University for Women
Gulf Finance House sponsored The Royal University for Women (RUW), the first private, purpose-built international university in the Gulf dedicated solely to educating women. RUW was conceived in 2002 to empower women through higher education and expand both their areas of specialism and the employment opportunities available to them. The RUW began operating in October 2005 and we continue to follow the progress of its students with interest.
Gifted Students Centre
The Gifted Students Centre was launched in 2007 under the patronage of H.E. Dr Majid Bin Ali Al Nuaimi, the Minister for Education, with the goal of providing Bahrain’s most talented children with an education commensurate with their ability; and an education that would otherwise not be available to them.
Sports
Hamad al Fardan / Team GFH
We recognize that young people need heroes to aspire to and it’s for this reason that we are delighted to sponsor the successful exploits of Hamad Al Fardan and his team as they pursue Formula 3 glory. Bahrain has established itself as the Middle East’s motor racing hub and Hamad is already considered to be a national racing icon. We look forward to following his success in the months ahead as he continues to showcase Bahrain’s motor racing credentials.
